SAN FRANCISCO, MARCH 31, 2025 – Chenope further expanded its patent portfolio with US patent numbers 11,972,346 and 12,229,676.
The latest two patents address a broad range of issues relating to effectively countering online influence operations, as well as the provision of novel metrics to objectively measure success. While there has been a tremendous amount of recent hype on the dangers posed by LLM-powered chatbots and their presumed ability to exert broad influence on the public, the reality is that whether posts are made by bots or humans – either to provide new content or counter already posted content – it is quite difficult to garner significant public attention amidst the noise of the Internet. Actually changing viewpoints in a persistent way is far more difficult still, especially on topics that most of the public already have strong and long-held views on.
The patents disclose dozens of ways that bots can become more effective in engaging members of the public to counter coordinated propaganda campaigns and other inauthentic content – all while being rigorously measured and continuously adjusted to improve performance.
Chenope has now been granted 6 patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on a variety of AI-related topics. Further patent applications are currently pending.
